I got inspired today to make an attempt at blogging. I relish new challenges, and decided to make a go of it after encouragement from a former professor. Granted, I’m not going to use this to show off my web coding skills as she suggested, but rather as an outlet for writing.
Writing has been a passion of mine since elementary school and I have tried my hand at many different styles since then. While I may not have the haiku poems I wrote back in 3rd grade, I still find writing to be a wonderful outlet for me.
Most of the time I listen to music while I write and its not for everyone. Some can be easily distracted by music, but for me it helps me focus. It can also provide my imagination with some funky ideas. I do occasionally use writing prompts as well, especially when I have a mental blockade.
That leads me back to my decision to start a blog. When I try new things, I don’t just do it for one day and say “Alright I tried it.” I will make a go of it for 30 days, and most times I find at the end of thirty days it has become habit. I am hopeful that this blog will become a daily habit for me, and that anyone reading my posts will enjoy them. Who knows, you may be inspired!
